Helen was referred to Welcome Home Kitchen & Bath by another person with whom we were working. Her kitchen was in need of updating and she had specific appliances in mid that she wanted in her new kitchen. Helen had given a lot of thought to the kitchen and had actually prepared some preliminary drawings that she shared. The location of the sink and stove had to be changed to incorporate the appliances she wanted which also included a warming drawer. Through the shaping process of several preliminary designs, she selected the one which diagonally placed the sink in the corner and placed the stove and microwave on the wall with the new refrigerator. She also wanted a raised bar top for serving as well as to somewhat obscure dirty dishes from the table. By incorporating 12” deep cabinets under the raised bar, additional room for storage was provided. Thorsten enjoys working with glass and he made the leaded glass panels for the wall cabinets.
Helen also wanted fronts for her new refrigerator, dishwasher, and warming oven which matched the cabinetry. The use of an oak wood top for the raised bar top ties in nicely with the cabinetry as well as provides a visual touch and contrast to the black quartz top.
Because Thorsten and Helen needed to be out of town during the remodeling process, Welcome Home Kitchen & Bath coordinated the entire project. This included the removal of existing cabinets, the electrical and plumbing work, receiving new appliances, and even the coordination for the donation fo the old cabinetry and appliances to Habitat For Humanity.
This was a great project in that we were given the specific needs for the new kitchen and we able to meet all those functional needs as well as greatly enhancing the ambiance of the kitchen.
